Ms. Sara Bresnahan, Director & President
Ms. Bresnahan is the President & Founder of Lancio Partners LLC. She is a marketing communications professional holding a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University and a Master of Arts from the University of Missouri, KC. She attended the University of Dallas MBA program. Sara was a teacher from 1980-1989 prior to her career in business and founding her own firm in 1999.
Mr. Kevin J. Walsh, Director & Secretary
Mr. Walsh is a business attorney at Quarles & Brady LLP in Phoenix. He concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, early-stage and emerging growth companies, equity and debt financing, and general business counseling. He received both his JDA and MBA from Villanova University and his BA from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Walsh is an active member of the Valley Interfaith Project, where he promotes initiatives to support education in the community. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering and spending time with his family.
Mr. Ted Quigley, Director & Treasurer
Mr. Quigley is a Senior Associate at KPMG LLP,with 6 years of experience providing consulting and financial accounting solutions. He leverages his background in internal audit, business process review and redesign, financial and data analysis, internal control assessment, regulatory compliance, and management consulting to increase the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting and efficiency of operations at start-up to Fortune 100 corporations. His clients include industry leaders in manufacturing, banking and financial services, airlines, metals and mining, medical devices, and energy and utilities. Mr. Quigley is an Arizona-licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Dr. Myriam Roa-Reifers, Director
Dr. Roa-Reifers retired in June 2016 as the superintendent for Phoenix Elementary School District #1. She was with the district for ten years. Prior to joining the district, Dr. Roa-Reifers served in Yuma Schools for fourteen years. Previous to her work in education, she was a computer systems analyst contracted to work with the United States Marine Corps, a computer programmer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association and a community college technology teacher. She holds a Bachelors Degree from North Carolina Wesleyan College and a Masters in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University, as well as a Doctorate from Arizona State University in Educational Administration and Supervision. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Mr. Virgil Berry Jr., Director
Mr. Virgil Berry Jr. is the President of Berry Properties. Established in 1960, the company has been a successful in real estate, property management and land development. As the designated Real Estate Broker for Berry Realty, Mr. Berry has successfully managed more than $150 million of property for the government, constructed and managed four apartment complexes, constructed three commercial office buildings and transacted $500,000 in property and lease transactions annually.
Mr. Berry holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University and a Real Estate License in Arizona.
Ms. Tara Grenier, Director
Mr. Joe Ray, Director
Mr. Joe Ray is a branding and marketing expert at Maximo Branding. He is also an accomplished artist, specializing in painting and printmaking. Mr. Ray is an artist member of Xico, Arte y Cultura (formerly Xicanindio Artes).
Additionally, he is a conference speaker and presenter whose topics include Reaching Latino Audiences, Health/Wellness Education for Hispanics, Branding, Packaging Design, Arts & Culture, and Community Activism.
Mr. Ray holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Arizona State University.
Dr. Georgina M. Takemoto, Director
Dr. Georgina M. Takemoto spent 41 years in education. She served as an administrator in Michigan, California and in Phoenix Union High School District, Paradise Valley Unified School District and the Phoenix Elementary School District, from which she retired as Superintendent in 2007. Dr. Takemoto also served the state of Michigan as the Executive Assistant to the Director of the Department of Commerce and worked in the private sector at Voyager Expanded Learning, specializing in early literacy and extended learning curriculum and staff development. She is Vice-President and Secretary of Takemoto Ventures and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Eastern Michigan University, as well as a Doctorate from Wayne State University.
Dr. Rene X. Diaz, Director
Dr. Diaz was superintendent of Phoenix Elementary School District #1 from 2002 – 2005 after having spent 30 years in Phoenix Union High School District as a counselor, principal, assistant superintendent and as superintendent for the last seven of those 30 years. He also worked for the Arizona Department of Education, was the Executive Director of the Wallace Leadership Grant and served as the Executive Director of the Arizona Hispanic Administrators Association. He is a native of Arizona and graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He earned a Bachelor and Master of Arts and Ed.D. from Arizona State University.
Ms. Mac (Linda) Perlich, Director
Mac (Linda) Perlich is the President of ON Media, which publishes the programs for all the performing arts in the valley and in Tucson. She and her husband, Russ, are the founders of Act One, an organization in Phoenix that exposes Title I students to professional performing arts to expand their horizons and spark their creativity. Act One has brought over 100,000 Title One students in the state to live performing arts field trips since 2010. The Act One Culture Pass, a collaborative program with all the libraries in the valley, provides free admission to over 40 museums, gardens and live performances. Over 400,000 Culture Passes are redeemed annually through this program, which has expanded from the Phoenix valley to Tucson and northern Arizona. Mac attended Scottsdale public schools through high school, and holds both a Masters and Bachelor Degree from University of Arizona. She taught at University of Arizona’s College of Nursing for over sixteen years prior to moving to Phoenix in 2004. Mac and Russ have three daughters Molly, Samantha and Maggie.
Dr. Angel Jannasch-Pennell, Director
Dr. Angel Jannasch-Pennell is president of KOI Education, specializing in evidence-based professional development opportunities in K-12 education. She directed research and outreach initiatives in the Applied Learning Technology Institute at Arizona State University and served on the governing board of Phoenix Elementary School District #1. She has written and directed multimillion dollar national and international research projects for universities, departments of education and local schools. She holds a Ph.D. in special education with an emphasis on technology integration.
Ben Barcon, Director
Ben Barcon is co-founder and President of the ADM Group, Inc., a 24-year architectural and interior design firm with offices in Tempe, Arizona, specializing in commercial design. He is a native Arizonan born in Miami and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. Mr. Barcon believes in community involvement and is a founding member of the East Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Rio Salado Business Partnership Advisory Board, Phoenix Elementary School District #1 Business and Community Partner Committee, Arizona Business and Education Coalition (ABEC), Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO), long-time sponsor of Arizona Superintendent’s Association (ASA), and a proud supporter of Arizona Hispanic School Administrators Association (AHSAA).
